What does it mean to be the leader of the gecko gang?

Jerry the Gecko meets King Midnight in Chapter 12 of King Midnight-Tails of Adventure and Glory. He organizes the other geckos into a V formation and they sprint toward Midnight and Phillip. He chirps orders in “Geckoese” to his troops.

King Midnight defends Phillip and Phillip’s food

When Midnight becomes aware of the gecko army’s advance, King Midnight chases Jerry around the patio as he “defends” his boy Phillip and Phillip’s food.

Jerry ends his gecko incursion with a warning to Midnight, “I will remember this, cat. You had better sleep with one eye open anytime you are out here!“
